Winter Tree Trimming & Arborist Services in Seven Hills, OH

Winter weather can take a toll on trees, causing damage and creating potential hazards. This case study explores a recent project by Saints Tree Service in Seven Hills, Ohio, where we provided comprehensive tree trimming and arborist services to address winter-related issues and ensure the health and safety of the homeowner's trees.

The homeowner contacted Saints Tree Service after heavy snowfall and strong winds. They were concerned about several trees on their property, particularly a few Eastern Pines with broken branches overhanging their driveway. They also wanted an arborist to assess the condition of their magnolia trees, which showed signs of winter damage.

"I was worried about the broken pine branches," said the property owner. "They were hanging precariously over the driveway, and I didn't want them to fall and cause damage or injury. I also wanted to ensure my magnolias were healthy after the harsh winter."

Our ISA Certified Arborist, Franklin, visited the property to conduct a thorough assessment of the trees. He inspected the Eastern White Pines, confirming the presence of broken and hazardous branches. He also examined the magnolia trees, identifying winter damage, including broken and crossing limbs.

"Winter weather can be tough on trees," explains Franklin. "Heavy snow and ice can cause branches to break, and strong winds can exacerbate existing weaknesses. It's important to address these issues promptly to prevent further damage and ensure the long-term health of the trees."

Based on Franklin's assessment, our team developed a customized tree trimming plan to address the specific needs of the homeowner's trees. This involved:

1. Eastern Pine Trimming: We carefully removed the broken branches from the Eastern Pines, ensuring the safety of the driveway and surrounding property. We also trimmed branches encroaching on the driveway, improving access and visibility.
2. Magnolia Tree Pruning: We pruned the magnolia trees to remove broken and crossing limbs, promoting better structure and reducing the risk of further damage. We also lifted the magnolia canopy to provide clearance from the house's roof, preventing potential damage and improving aesthetics.

This project presented some unique challenges due to the winter conditions. The bitter cold and strong winds made the work more difficult and required extra precautions to ensure the safety of our crew.

"Working in cold and windy conditions requires extra care and attention," said the crew leader, Nelson. "We ensured our team was properly equipped with warm clothing and safety gear, and we adjusted our techniques to account for the wind. Safety is always our top priority."
